ABOUT US

The Campaign to Retain Phoneboxes (CARP) was founded by Rex Hora who regularly travelled by bus into rural parts of Oxfordshire to test if telephone boxes were working and wrote to BT if they were not, as well as encouraging others to do so.

Sadly, Rex passed away suddenly in November 2019 whilst volunteering on the Cholsey & Wallingford Railway.. The Railway are currently in the process of restoring a K6 telephone box and converting it to a defibrillator station in his memory.

Although I do not have time to devote to Rex's campaign, I have up to now maintained the CARP website on BT Community webkit. Unfortunately BT are now (May 2021) withdrawing this service. The information from the CARP website is being transferred here to form a more permanent record, to which I intend to add in future.
